Biotest, founded in 1946, is an international group of companies with headquarters in Frankfurt/Main. Biotest AG is the parent company, which is also responsible for the operating division Diagnostic. It was a logical step for the pharmaceutical division to emerge from the diagnostic beginnings of the company, which was the first in the world to launch the anti-D test serum for determination of the Rhesus factor in 1948.

Its sound knowledge and interaction between accurate diagnosis and effective treatment focusing on human blood have increasingly led to the development of innovative products, enabling Biotest to become the pioneer of modern medicine.

Today, Biotest, which was listed on the stock exchange in 1987, has a workforce of around 1100 worldwide, 106 of who are involved in research and development. Its products are distributed in almost ninety countries around the globe by its own foreign affiliated companies and distributing partners.
